Mulateiro tree
The Mulateiro Rapé contains ashes from the Mulateiro tree (Calycophyllum spruceanum). Mulateiro is a tree native to the tropical regions of the Amazon: Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and Brazil, especially widespread in the Amazon region.
Its use is very popular in northern Brazil, where it is also known as the tree of youth.
It is a large plant, reaching between 20 and 30 meters in height, with a trunk that varies from 30 to 40 cm in diameter. Its leaves have a light green color that darkens over time, becoming brownish. Its white flowers are highly scented, which transform into various seeds that are dispersed by the wind.
Medicinal Properties of the Mulateiro
The tree has various medicinal properties such as healing, fungicide, antifungal, antioxidant, repellent and insecticide. It is also used in the manufacture of various cosmetics to remove blemishes and scars.
The tea from its shell is used in popular medicine to treat wounds, fungal infections, to cleanse the blood, as well as help prevent the health of the body in general.
